Traditional Upholstery SpringPatrick Edwards is a traditional upholsterer.

We use a wide array of materials similar to the ones employed in traditional upholstery, including hog and horse hair, Spanish moss, wood shavings, kapok, sisal, straw, rag wool, and foam for post World War II upholstery.

Hog and horse hair offer the best result, while foam offer a cheaper alternative. We would however never use foam on a pre-industrial object.

Early upholstery materials and methods must be preserved at all costs. In addition, the traditional techniques and material are more durable and comfortable than foam.
